Description

This photograph postcard of Main Street Ridlonville, ca. 1905, depicts the Wills boarding house and other local businesses near the center of town.

The Wills Block boarding house shown on the left, in the foreground, of this photograph was built in 1902 for Albert and Nettie Wills. The Wills created a boarding house to accommodate the influx of people pouring into the area to work in the Oxford Paper Company.

In the same building, as the Wills boarding house, on the left lower level is a Millenery operated by W.C. Stevens and the Kinnear Brothers have a grocery store on the left side of the lower level. The building to the right, of the Wills' building, is the Ridlon Hotel.

Up the road from these establishments, Day Hill leads to South Main Street. The road to the right continues Main street to River Road.
